Meet the Providers

I grew up in the Midwest and spent about a decade on the East Coast before moving to Colorado seven years ago. My husband is a middle school teacher and we have a three year old with twins on the way! We enjoy finding new things to do in the area, including new hiking trails. I'm an avid reader with fiction as my primary inclination but I also really enjoy some nonfiction. I'm in an introvert at heart, which is how I recharge when having the privilege of providing client care.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with older children, adolescents, adults, and some families. My primary specialty is trauma, attachment, and grief issues and I am trained in EMDR. I also have extensive experience and enjoy working with clients encountering depression, anxiety, and mood issues. I approach treatment from a client and solution focused framework, and utilize approaches such as the cognitive therapies, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
I have my B.S. in Psychology and received my Master's in Counseling from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. I have worked in day treatment, residential, community based, and outpatient settings with children, adolescents, and adults. The majority of my work experiences have focused on working with all types of trauma and mood disorders.
My philosophy is that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for healing and psychological wellbeing. I believe in walking alongside clients for their journey and using my skills and the client's strengths to help them achieve their goals and experience personal change. I truly enjoy facilitating clients to find their path to change and healing and am honored when I have the privilege to be part of the process.

I believe emotional and behavioral health is the foundation to every other aspect of our lives. It is amazing what can be achieved when your mind is optimized for your individual needs. I do my very best to support and inform each patient’s unique health journey.

I have a warm and inviting style, treating everyone in a respectful, nonjudgmental environment. All treatment plans are developed to meet the individual's unique, personal preferences and needs.
Reaching out for support can be very difficult and intimidating; clients will notice upon first meeting there is no pressure only support and understanding while meeting the client at their level and working at a comfortable pace.

I believe that we all can grow and change and also need assistance and guidance at times to become unstuck from our current mindset and circumstances. I believe in the mind- body connection and how that connects to our mental health. . I currently work with the needs of trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction. I utilize a client centered approach and will incorporate DBT, CBT and EMDR as it fits the needs of the individual.

My philosophy of care is patient focused. My role is not just to diagnose and treat, but to teach my patients and families about their condition. I believe it is important to give my patients the tools they need to learn about their health and strive for wellness. I also value the importance of interdisciplinary care in mental health. I believe that the opportunity to collaborate with other disciplines and work as a team allows us all to provide the best care possible.

The most difficult part to receiving help, in my opinion, is showing up and asking for help. Therefore, I greatly honor and celebrate every individual who has the courage to step up, come to my office and ask for help. It is my passion and desire to guide you in your healing journey, however, I cannot do the healing for you. What I can provide you with are tools, resources and medications to aid in your process. It excites me to educate and empower my patients to be advocates for their health and their lives. I look forward to working with you.

I strive to build a strong therapeutic bond with Clients, using humor to cope and heal, and listening to understand. I will help you rationally analyze specific life events and experiences to deconstruct thought processes that are not serving Clients well. My clients will have the opportunity to work to overcome both specific and generalized anxieties, such as Social Anxiety Disorder; uncertainty about the future; core beliefs, such as feelings of unworthiness or being unlovable; addiction struggles in any form; and relationship issues.

I believe in meeting people where they are at and finding a middle ground between accepting our flaws and always trying to be the best people we can be. I love to work with people and provide the care and support from a nonjudgmental perspective. We all have a journey and I have a passion for helping others fill their journey with meaning, purpose and becoming the best versions of themselves.

I am passionate about our body's innate wisdom and what our nonverbal experiences have to say. I am skilled at staying present with the full range of emotions, so I can go wherever you need to go in your emotional work. There is often powerful insight and relief when we allow ourselves to work with our body in therapy rather than against it. Building awareness with curiosity and compassion is a team effort in my office, and I would love to see where we can grow together.

Meeting with a healthcare provider is one of the first steps toward improving one's mental health and wellbeing. I look forward to creating a relationship with my patients built on open-communication and trust. Together, we will design optimal strategies, through medication management and therapy, to help you achieve your full potential and best quality of life.

I approach new clients with a blend of curiosity and empathy. I view all mental health problems through a lens of human development and as occurring within multiple systems (the family, school, work, etc.). I prefer to work in partnership with clients and/or their families to provide education, skills training, practice, and reinforcement of new ways of thinking and behavior that reduce distress and dysfunction.

I want everyone and anyone to know that I am here to provide a space for all, so they can feel safe to express how they are feeling, be who they are, and discover what they need to experience progress/change. I approach therapy as an equal relationship, in which I am there to listen, guide, validate, and share in another’s pain or struggles as well as their successes and process. I am honest, non-judgemental, empathic, genuine, and open-minded.
